For example, we would use IPs: 184.108.40.206 => assigned as the router's public IP 220.127.116.11 => mail.mydomain.com 18.104.22.168 => ras2.mydomain.com ** doesn't like this ** 22.214.171.124 => www.mydomain.com 126.96.36.199 => ftp.mydomain.com Search for a recent change in any of the interfaces of the machine with troubles. I've updated the NIC driver with no success. If you're having a computer problem, ask on our forum for advice.

First let me explain the problem. Once I did that, worked like a charm. I had, as an example, routed > ras2.mydomain.com > > (188.8.131.52) to some internal IP for PPTP connections only (netopia > > routers have PPTP predefined which takes care of TCP Can it be an ISP related issue?

If you use IP mapping, the client sends the packet to a pool IP which is mapped to the RRAS server's LAN IP. However, it doesn't like that, I have to use the router's > IP > > (meaning I have to point ras2.mydomain.com to 184.108.40.206 in our DNS > > servers) and then This error may vary time to time from remote PPP peer is not responding to the remote computer.... It has the router's public IP, so it fails. 3. this content I will suggest to check the router settings and make sure TCP Port 1723, IP Protocol 47 (GRE) are opened.
I don't really know why sometimes you managed to connect by method 2. It's only the PPTP service that doesn't seem to like this in our > situation, forcing me to use the router's IP address instead of the other 15 > static IPs. This connection was working in the past. Cause of Error 721 Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol uses Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) for tunneled data and the error may occur if the network firewall does not permit the GRE protocol traffic. Also, you need to make sure that the firewall permits the TCP traffic on port 1723. We'll let you know when a new response is added. Everything works perfectly, EXCEPT PPTP (VPN) connections. It has been a while since I have had to use any of the netsh commands. I will share these findings with this forum in case others can benefit from our situation. I am not sure if I am clear on this?
