Hi, I have just finally migrated to VMWare with my new machine, but am having a few late teething issues with USB devices. Vmware Usb Arbitration Service In my case VMware detected 3 usb peripherals. Check Windows services to see if the ‘VMWare USB Arbitration Service' is Running on the host machine. -Select the ‘Start' button, in the ‘search programs and files' box, type ‘services.msc' -Make sure I installed version 6.5 and that didnt help either, but I found out the root cause of this problem.
It will first be stopped to enable safe removal. I'm actually not quite sure how I fixed this but for those interested I will detail my experience, perhaps something I did can help you too. The PITA, is that it did work, and I am not sure if it is to do with extra USB device installs (Dock, keyboard, mouse etc), or the host machine/config files.
