I don't believe it would be fixed after a reboot if it was DNS. If I recall correctly, there's also another issue with HP host management utils that can trigger the MKS failure. To resolve or not to resolve?  That is the question…. My hunch about DHCP was because a reboot fixed the problem (it'd be at least renewing it's lease, maybe getting a new one).
