Read, Write and execute permissions often get fouled up for some reason on the Mac OSX when new programs are installed. When I click on the shortcut to intialize the program, it returns an error which reads: "Error 51: Unable to communicate with the VPN subsystem Please make sure that at least Click Yes. keep getting error 51.. Just wow...what are the odds? So Nothing is Blocking the Cisco VPN from Starting.. The simple fix is to quit VPNClient, open a Terminal window, (Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal) and type one of the following: (for older versions) sudo /System/Library/StartupItems/CiscoVPN/CiscoVPN restart (for newer versions)
Restarted, ran Disk Utility, tried the restart via Terminal again. Funny is, when working with my admin account, the VPN client works. From the File menu, choose Export. i hated having to reboot just because of this stupid error.
